Welcome to Time of Your Life

People had been telling me for years that I should retire but I thoroughly enjoyed my job, writing cookbooks and running my own PR business. I was having The Time of My Life and I didn’t want it to stop. So, when I did decide to retire in 2017, I needed to find a new sense of fulfilment and purpose. Throughout my 35 year career in broadcasting and PR I was fortunate to work with some of the biggest names in the food media industry and I feel very lucky to have had a career that was not only a passion but a hobby. So I have to admit that embracing retirement was not a natural state for me, in fact it was something that I had privately dreaded.

I felt that I needed a plan, a new project. I wanted something that would be far removed from my previous 'business world, yet still be interesting and fun and, importantly, allow me to spend quality time with my husband, grown-up children, grandchildren and our friends. My mind was buzzing! And by chance, whilst out walking with our dog I came up with the concept for this site, The Time of Your Life, for this, the new time of my life. Sharing stories, experiences, worries, dreams - and having a bit of a laugh as well! So welcome - I hope you enjoy your visit and I look forward to getting to know you all!
